Gilbert, Arizona, brimming with agriculture and excellent school districts, is consistently ranked as one of the best places to live in the country. What many people do not know is that on top of being an extremely attractive location for families and professionals alike, it is actually the Hay Capital of the World. This is due to the alfalfa, cotton, and dairy farms that surrounded the city during the early 1900s. Much has happened since this time, and many bugs, insects, and pests in general have made their way into the town. At Green Machine Pest Control, we are dedicated to removing these pests from the homes in our community so that they can enjoy all that it has to offer once more.
These are some of the most common pests to keep an eye out for in Gilbert, Arizona:
Arizona is famous for its plethora of scorpions, and Gilbert is no exception. Bark and Striped Tail Scorpions are commonly found on cinderblock walls, under plastic tubs, and in cracks and crevices throughout backyards. Some scorpions are harmless, but the Arizona Bark Scorpion has a venomous sting that can even be lethal, especially in small children and the elderly. Arizona bark scorpions are commonly found in homes throughout the area, and they only require 1/16 of an inch for entry -- that’s only as thick as a credit card! That makes it easy for them to find a gap to slide into the walls of the home. Not only are we good at killing them, but we also have a service to seal up your home to keep them out. Ask us about sealing your home from scorpions!
Roaches might not be as threatening as scorpions, but they certainly pose a threat to the homes in Gilbert. Of the roaches found in Arizona, German cockroaches are some of the most common. They are usually introduced to homes by bringing in infested items from the inside of a home or business.
While Arizona is home to some of the greatest wonders of the world, it is also home to some of the world’s deadliest spiders. Many of the spiders in Arizona are venomous. Two of them, the black widow spider and the Arizona brown spider, can cause serious medical problems. Wolf spiders are the most common large spider. Many people mistake a wolf spider for a Brown Recluse, but either way, they are large and hairy, and our Service Technicians are fantastic at removing them. Don’t let these problems fester and get out of control. Our team will help you control your pest problems and start enjoying the comfort of your home again.
How Long Does It Take for Pest Control to Work?
If you are dealing with a pest issue in your home, you are probably eager to get it resolved as soon as possible. We understand your frustration, and we are here to assure you that you do not need to live with this issue for much longer. The duration of our visits and the amount of time it takes for our services to be effective will depend on the extent of the problem. Our products will take down most adult pests within 10 days, then we rely on residual barriers we have established to catch additional pests as they forage for food. It may take a few months for eggs to hatch and adults to leave the nest and forage for food, but there should be a considerable change after the Initial Flushing Treatment.
For every visit, we will begin with a professional introduction where we will get acquainted with you, your home, and the pest issues that are plaguing it. One of the most important parts of this visit will be an entry point inspection, as these are the places where the invaders make their way into your home. During this time, we will check around the pipes, windows, doors, attics, garages, and crawlspaces to see where your home might be lacking the proper barriers to keep pests out in the future. We will also examine the yard to determine any signs of potential risk that we will want to mitigate, then we will discuss our findings with you. You will be able to relax throughout the entire process knowing that you are in trustworthy, skilled hands that will get the project completed in as timely of a manner as possible.
